Privacy Policy

Information you give us

When you request a consult or book a session, we collect the details you enter — your name, email address, phone number, and what you’d like to work on with your dog. If you move forward as a client, we also collect the information in the evaluation and any waiver you complete. We use this to schedule your training and to contact you about your booking.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically collect basic usage data when you visit our booking pages: which pages you view, the type of browser and device you use, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Your IP address is anonymized before it is stored. We use Google Analytics for this. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Cookies and advertising

Our booking pages use cookies and similar technologies from two providers, Google and Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). We use them to see which advertising brings people to the site.

Google sets cookies for two purposes: Google Analytics, to understand how the pages are used, and Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure whether an ad led someone to request a consult.

Meta’s tools work in two parts. A pixel in your browser records page views, and when you send a consult request it records a “Lead” event. A matching signal from our own server (Meta’s Conversions API) reports that same consult request. The two share one event ID so Meta counts the request once rather than twice. What we send to Meta is limited to technical information: an IP address, browser and device details, the page address, Meta’s own cookie identifiers, and the kind of request you made. We do not send your name, email, or phone number to Meta, in any form.

We do not use any of this to build advertising profiles of you, we do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.

You can limit this tracking at any time:

• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.
• Adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who we share information with

We share your information only with the service providers that help us run the booking site, and only so they can perform their function:

• Google — website analytics and advertising measurement.
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement for our ads. We share only technical data, never your name, email, or phone number.
• Supabase — securely stores your booking and client information.
• Resend — sends booking confirmation and notification emails.
• Cloudflare — provides the “bot check” that protects our forms from spam.
• Netlify — hosts the website.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide training services and to keep accurate business records. You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time by emailing training@steadystepsdogs.com, and we’ll respond promptly.

Children

Our services and booking pages are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
